New marketing opportunities

Winkhaus will be presenting its locking solutions for the trade, retail, fire and security markets at the 2019 FIT Show, including the newest addition to its autoLock collection: the AV3-E Heritage Plus.

Displayed in a composite door, the AV3-E Heritage Plus combines a modern multi-point locking system with ‘enhanced visual style’. Key features include its heritage eye-level cylinder position and a new centre latch.

Its daytime latch can be operated with a single hand, and the blueMatic AV3-E version offers motorised unlocking that is compatible with all types of electronic access control systems, ideal for the new trend of smart homes.

Visitors will also be able to see the AV3-E with the FAB slave door lock, demonstrating its application in a double entrance composite doorset. The stand will showcase the range of AV3 locks for composite and timber doors in both single and double doorset applications.

Winkhaus has emphasised its commitment to the fire door market by being one of the first manufacturers in this sector to offer products that comply with EN1634-1:2014 CE requirements for fire doorsets.

The company will be introducing its new FD30 and FD60 fire and security composite and timber doorsets that have passed BS EN1634 Fire Resistance and Smoke Control, and PAS24 security testing. This meets the latest MHCLH requirements to prove compliance with Approved Document B requiring fire compliance from both sides of the doorset.

This test evidence has been collated and housed by Winkhaus within a ‘global assessment document’ and a Q Mark Third Party certification scheme, meaning that fabricators can use this evidence to manufacture doors to these standards providing they sign up for the Dual Q Mark Certification schemes for both fire and security.

“As solution providers, we pride ourselves in offering a broad range of top quality, reliable and modern products that appeal to fabricators and installers,” Mike Rushen, Winkhaus UK’s sales director, said. “In particular, the heritage cylinder position shows that any door design can benefit from the latest advanced locking systems yet still be sympathetic to a property’s existing style.

“Our range has evolved to suit all markets, helping our customers to differentiate their product portfolios and create new marketing opportunities with homeowners.”

Visitors to the FIT Show are invited for refreshments courtesy of Winkhaus’s Barista services signature blend coffees and speciality teas, with German beer and bratwursts available between midday and 2pm.

Winkhaus will also be holding a prize draw during the first day’s ‘late night’ Tuesday on May 21 with the chance of winning one of several Virgin Experience Vouchers.

Another enticing reason to linger later that evening will be its ‘Tap & Tonic’ theme. Stand visitors will be offered the option of two German craft beers or a traditional English gin served with bratwursts.

“With our newly-tested FD60 Fire Doorsets complementing our wide range of locking systems, we’re looking forward to welcoming existing and potential customers to our stand in May,” Mike said.
