AGC Glass Europe has introduced a range of sales and technical tools that enable users to access information and offer a more efficient and streamlined service via their smartphone or tablet.
These include a Glass Measuring App, Acoustic Glass Specification App, Project Reference App and a Glass Performance Configurator.
With AGC’s new Glass Measurement App the thickness of a pane of installed glass can be measured without needing a plastic measuring card or professional measuring device. Users simply scan the inner or outer pane (in double or triple glazing) by positioning their smartphone against the window at an angle of 45° to calculate glass thicknesses from 4mm up to 15mm.
This same app also now features a function for ‘coating detection’ to find if a coating is present on double or triple-glazed units.
The AGC Acoustic Glass App allows the most appropriate acoustic glass to be specified based on the level of noise pollution in the surrounding area.
By choosing from a range of common noise sources (dog barking, city traffic, etc.) users can select from nine glass types, from single to triple acoustic glazing, and then listen and compare the level of sound protection each offers via their smartphone or tablet. For each specification, the app generates a comprehensive report detailing the relevant levels of acoustic, safety and thermal insulation performance.
AGC’s Project Reference App showcases AGC glass in action by referencing existing projects.
The app features interior and exterior glass products and solutions in various types of buildings (schools, offices, retail outlets etc) and for different applications (structural glazing, wall cladding etc) with additional search criteria to fine-tune their selection either by brand or product function.
A new edition has just been released containing 200 projects and more than 600 images. Users can create city trip and reference tours that can be saved in the app, and once on the move the gps will guide them to the selected buildings. Users can even look for green certified buildings and Cradle to Cradle certified references.
AGC’s Glass Performance Configurator calculates the energy performance properties of any AGC glass in three simple steps: the glass specification; the energy values calculated in accordance with European Standards; and a pdf download.
