Edgetech returned from Fensterbau Frontale reporting that spacer technology is more important than ever with the advent of automation and tighter environmental regulations.
Edgetech UKβs managing director Chris Alderson said: βLast year we showcased at major glazing events all over the world, and this year weβre doing the same β visiting Germany, India and China among other destinations. And wherever we go, we find more interest in warm-edge products than ever.
βIn large part, I think thatβs down to the growing appeal of automation for IGU manufacturers. Exceptional thermal performance is now the norm β between 70% and 80% of sealed units now incorporate warm edge technology, compared to just 5% in 2007.
βThatβs led to rapidly rising demand for products capable of delivering the very best thermal efficiency β and, in turn, to many firms embracing automation as a way of keeping pace. With companies like Edgetech able to offer automated lines that can produce an IGU every twenty seconds, the efficiency gains are obvious.
βAt Fensterbau, it was great to be able to discuss issues like these with IGU manufacturers from all over the world, and we look forward to developing the new contacts we made into lasting, mutually profitable relationships.β
