Roofing partnership

Installsure, the division of the GGF Group dedicated to IBGs and commercial insurance schemes, has partnered with CompetentRoofer, the government-licenced competent person scheme for roofing contractors.

This move means that the 570 contractors operating under the CompetentRoofer banner now have access to Installsure’s portfolio of insurance products.

The roofing sector’s equivalent to Fensa, CompetentRoofer is the only competent person scheme in the roofing industry. It allows contractors to self-certify work, saving time and money on jobs that would otherwise incur the delay and cost of a Building Control sign-off; for example, when more than 50% of a roof is refurbished, and local authorities are notified.

Through Installsure, CompetentRoofer contractors can now benefit from all the expertise afforded to Fensa members.

Anda Gregory, managing director of Installsure, said: “Installsure is an established and highly respected IBG provider to the glazing industry and we’re delighted to expand into the roofing sector and partner with a like-minded, ambitious scheme in CompetentRoofer. The partnership is a natural fit for us both and we can’t wait to start working with CompetentRoofer and their contractors.”

Tracie Hunter, general manager of CompetentRoofer, said: “We encourage all contractors to choose their new IBG provider before the launch on our new system in December.”
