FIT Show Awards 2017 judging panel unveiled

Back for its second year, the FIT Show Awards are ready to seek out the very best FIT exhibitors across six different categories, including Best Stand Design and Best Creative Campaign. The FIT Show organisers have now named those on the judging panel.

“It’s exciting to be launching the second year of the FIT Show Awards at our new home, the NEC,” FIT Show’s event director Nickie West said. “Response from exhibitors has been great and there’s been a lot of buzz about who the judges will be. We’re very pleased to have an inspiring group of individuals in charge of judging this year’s entries.

“From the NEC we have B2B marketing manager Gemma Piggott, who over the last 10 years before coming to the NEC has worked for various high profile marketing agencies and was even the European marketing manager for a global oil and energy business. With a potent blend of creative flair, attention to detail and the ability to ‘think outside the box’ she’s the perfect fit for the FIT Awards.

“Joining Gemma will be fellow NEC colleague Liz Cawley, whose role as an account manager will prove crucial when judging the FIT Show Awards. Having looked after trade and consumer shows in a variety of market segments and sizes, and with an OND and HND in hotel management, everything adds up to have Liz bring her all-round global perspective to the judging panel.

“Returning for her second year as a judge, Jenni Jaques, marketing director for AEO (Association of Event Organisers) and FaceTime, brings almost 20 years of experience to the panel spanning the construction, security, exhibition and events sectors to name a few.

“Closing out the judging panel is Exhibition News reporter Nicola Macdonald and exhibition consultant Alison Jackson, who over the past 25 years has worked on some of the largest events in the UK and bought and sold events for organisers such as UBM, Emap, Montgomery and IIR.”

More than 200 companies will be exhibiting at the FIT Show in May and the bar will be set even higher this year for exhibitors, not only for their stands at the show, but also for their marketing and promotional campaigns in the run up to the event.

The Award categories are: Most Effective use of Social and Digital Media, Most Successful Visitor Campaign in terms of Visitors Delivered, Best Creative FIT 2017 Marketing Campaign, Best Stand Designed under 80m2, Best Stand Designed over 80m2, and Most Creative Shell Scheme/Package Stand.

Winners will be announced at the FIT Show Gala Dinner on the evening of the second day of the FIT Show, May 24 2017.
