The Window Company (Contracts) has launched a new app that allows fitting teams to provide live project updates from site.
Fitters on site log in to the app to record and log their Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) and installation checklists. They can also take and submit before and after photos of every job and record any snagging issues directly from the app.
The benefit for The Window Company (Contracts), and for its clients across the social housing and newbuild sector, is that the data recorded on site is automatically added to its database, which holds the records of every property where work is planned, ongoing or completed.
Katie Thornton, director of compliance and administration who was responsible for scoping and implementing the app, said: “Previously, we had to manually input the data on risk assessments and snagging, which was time consuming and had the potential for human error. The new system is much more efficient and has the added benefit that photos taken on site are automatically allocated to the relevant address and available to view instantly.
“It’s a huge leap forward and gives us much more flexibility on the kinds of reporting we can provide to clients. It also, of course, has the potential for further additions in the future; from time sheets to accident reporting.”
The Window Company (Contracts)’ SQL/Access database includes a bespoke caller ID system which identifies any resident who calls up and brings up their customer record so that the call handler can greet them by name and see exactly what work is being carried out at their property.
“We continue to invest in the database because we see real returns not just in terms of our own efficiency but in how it enhances the resident experience and makes us an even easier partner to work with,” Kate said.
