Adding value with aesthetics

RegaLead’s Guy Hubble discusses how decorative door products can transform composite door designs into unique styles that can persuade homeowners to part with their hard-earned cash in the inevitable market downturn.

Being at FIT Show for three days gave our team a great opportunity to get a good feeling of the mood of our industry after several impressive sales results and a relatively buoyant market.

I think it’s safe to say that whilst there is still a level of positivity, we are very aware of rising energy costs and the fact that the home improvement sector now has to compete for hard-earned consumer cash against the prospect of nice summer holidays abroad.

The other challenge is the fact that prices have risen and risen, and there are no signs of them being reduced. The days of being able to get a new composite door fitted for a £1,000 are behind us. So, as homeowners are having to pay out more for new products in their homes, they are keen to have something out of the ordinary and are not satisfied with a product with a ‘basic specification’.

As installers are presented with the challenge of fighting for business in the economic downturn, they need easy and cost-effective ways to add the wow-factor to product ranges, and that’s easily done by selling on the unique aesthetics upgrades that are available with the RegaLead decorative door products range.

Etched glass options

From heritage to contemporary looks, every composite door style on the market can be upgraded with our range of decorative glass options to feature in the door slab, or on sidelights or toplights. Why offer satin when one of the biggest trends of the year so far has been our etched glass ‘Letters and Numbers’ range.

The ability to have etched glass personalised with a house number, their street address, or even the name of their cottage or villa offers a truly unique door design.

Our etched range also features five unique patterned designs, offering a mix of traditional and contemporary styling to help RegaLead customers meet the demand from both sides of the market. The Holborn and Mayfair patterns use a repeated star design for a traditional style, taking inspiration from the Victorian era. The Spitalfield design has a tulip pattern which follows the same traditional trends and Quadratum has a modern twist. By far the most popular is the repeat pattern design that features the iconic bee symbol – a significant emblem associated with the city of Manchester, it is now a symbol that features in everything from fashion to interior design.

FIT Show gave us the chance to showcase our innovative new products to the sector too. We had fantastic feedback on our stunning new Black Inox Frames, which, when paired with vibrant composite door colour shades such as Contemporary Coral and Hot Mustard, can really make an entrance door ‘pop’.

We also showcased our stunning Rose Gold New Orleans glass design which perfectly matches the Rose Gold Sweet hardware range.

In this new market of ‘replacements of replacements’, selling on aesthetics is one of the easiest ways for installers to win more business from homeowners who are looking for a new door that really pushes the boundaries of design. Our brand new 104-page decorative door catalogue makes it easy for installers to sell the full decorative glass range to consumers and make extra profit from every composite door installation.
