Kömmerling kicked off 2026 with a confident and highly visible presence across two major exhibitions, combining consumer engagement in the UK with innovation-led messaging on the global stage.
From the Homebuilding & Renovating Show at the NEC to Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg, the brand set out to demonstrate a clear, joined-up strategy, one that is designed to connect homeowner demand with the evolving needs of fabricators and installers.
Engaging the end user
The exhibition season began at the NEC on 19 March, where Kömmerling returned to the Homebuilding & Renovating Show following a successful debut at Sandown Park in 2025. With a significantly enhanced presence on a 100m2 stand, the brand took centre stage to present its offering directly to homeowners, self-builders and renovators.
According to Kömmerling, this is an increasingly important audience in a market where consumer awareness and specification decisions are more informed than ever.
At the heart of the stand was the WarmCore windows and doors range, supported by a curated selection of complementary outdoor living solutions including decking, cladding, fencing, balustrading and garden screens.
This wider lifestyle proposition reflects a shift in how homeowners approach their spaces, with growing demand for cohesive indoor-outdoor environments. By showcasing a complete solution, Kömmerling says it was not only strengthening its brand appeal, but also supporting its installer network by generating aspiration and high-quality enquiries.
From inspiration to innovation
While the Homebuilding & Renovating Show focused on consumer engagement, Fensterbau Frontale 2026 provided a platform for Kömmerling to demonstrate its technical leadership to an international audience.
At the centre of its presence was the Fit For Future programme – a product-focused initiative designed to help fabricators operate more efficiently in an increasingly competitive market.
Bringing together a series of practical system developments, the programme focuses on simplifying fabrication, reducing material usage and minimising complexity. The result is a range of product solutions that are reported to deliver tangible commercial benefits, from improved logistics through to faster, more efficient installation.
Among the systems showcased were the PremiSlide 76 Beyond sliding system, the new PremiConnect coupling technology, and the enhanced AluClip Plus aluminium cladding solution.
A particular highlight that is said to have attracted considerable attention from visitors was the introduction of the PremiStep 20 threshold system.
Designed to support barrier-reduced access with a low installation height, it integrates seamlessly into fabrication processes and requires no additional installation steps on site. Its compatibility across multiple system platforms further enhances its flexibility, making it well suited to a wide range of residential applications.
The evolution of hybrid systems
WarmCore was a central focus across both exhibitions, underlining its importance within Kömmerling’s product portfolio.
The system combines a thermally optimised PVC-U core with a continuous aluminium outer cladding, bringing together the strengths of both materials. The result is a solution that delivers strong thermal performance, durability and a modern architectural aesthetic.
Importantly, the bonded hybrid construction removes the need for additional steel reinforcement, even with floor-to-ceiling sash sizes. This reduces weight, simplifies fabrication and creates space for additional insulation cores, delivering performance and manufacturing efficiencies.
Available in both 70mm and 76mm depths, WarmCore supports a wide range of applications, from windows and residential doors, through to sliding and folding/sliding elements. For the UK market, WarmCore 70 continues to offer a particularly versatile solution, with multiple configurations and extensive colour options available, enabling fabricators and installers to meet diverse project requirements.
Further innovation was highlighted through the introduction of the WarmCore 76 sliding door, featuring a slim central sightline that attracted strong interest from visitors, according to Kömmerling. A lift-and-slide system is also currently in development, demonstrating the ongoing evolution of the platform.
Driving sustainability
Sustainability was a clear and consistent theme throughout Kömmerling’s presence at Fensterbau, not only in terms of product development but also through wider industry engagement.
The launch of the Kömmerling Tomorrow Award marked a significant step in recognising and promoting sustainability across the global window industry, with the award ‘recognising window manufacturers worldwide who make a measurable contribution to greater sustainability through innovative solutions and strong commitment’.
Award winning initiatives included companies that are delivering measurable impact from carbon-neutral production and the adoption of bio-attributed materials, through to recycling initiatives and community-focused projects.
By highlighting real-world examples of sustainable practice, the award reinforces the importance of environmental responsibility and aims to encourage further innovation across the sector.
A joined-up strategy for growth
Together, Kömmerling’s activity across both exhibitions highlights a clear and cohesive strategy.
By engaging directly with homeowners at the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, the brand is building awareness and influencing demand at the earliest stages of the buying journey – both with renovation focused homeowners, and ambitious self-builders. Meanwhile, its presence at Fensterbau reinforces Kömmerling’s role as a systems supplier focused on innovation, efficiency and long-term sustainability.
This dual approach – connecting inspiration with technical advancement – ensures Kömmerling is not only responding to current market demands but actively shaping the future of the industry.
