Signing up for FIT 2023

FIT Show organisers have reported record pre-registration numbers for the 2022 exhibition which returned to the NEC last week after a three-year hiatus.

Of those who exhibited, 45 companies have already signed up for next year’s outing, which will also be the 10th anniversary of the show.

While this sounds very positive, the 2022 FIT Show has also faced some criticism about the quality and size of the event. Convincing exhibitors to commit big money to the show in the middle of a pandemic would have certainly presented some challenges for organisers – and this was perhaps reflected in the absence of some organisations that would otherwise have been expected to deliver big stands – but the vast majority of exhibitors that I spoke to at the show were very pleased to have done so.

Less stands, meant much greater engagement with visitors and no doubt a much healthier ROI. And certainly, while Tuesday afternoon was a little quiet, the show was a hive of activity the following day.

All things considered, I would say the 2022 FIT Show was a success. Will the 2023 event be able to build on that? Only time will tell…

Someone who will most definitely be celebrating post FIT Show, is Extrudaseal’s Bill Clark, who was the lucky winner of the Glass Times Passport £10,000 cash prize – with an additional £5,000 being donated to industry charity, GM Fundraising.

Bill made a deal with his colleagues that he would share the money with his team if he won, so a big congratulations to all at the Birmingham based firm!
