Rehau WoWs with in-house exhibition

I visited Rehau’s headquarters in Erlangen, Germany, last week, in order to take a closer look at the  World of Windows expo – a temporary exhibition space that has been showcasing a range of the system company’s latest innovations.

World of Windows, or ‘WoW’ for short, opened in mid-April and will close at the end of this week. If you’re reading this on the way to Fensterbau, then it’s well worth the short taxi ride to Erlangen especially as Rehau has taken the decision not to exhibit at the main event in Nuremburg this year.

The 600m2 World of Windows ‘experience’ is impressive to say the least – see for yourself in this incredible drone footage – with products such as the new Artevo system demonstrating the potential for oversized sashes, compatible with next generation foiling and clever ‘switchable’ glass technology.

This ‘smart shading’ allows users to activate privacy glass – from individual sections to the whole pane of glass – at the flick of a switch. It’s not entirely new in itself, but the way Rehau has integrated the technology into its new systems, has helped to elevate it from a mere concept to something you could actually see being specified for commercial and high end residential projects.

We will be providing a more in-depth report in the August issue of Glass Times, including more details on the Slinova and Slinova X sliding patio systems, two solutions that have generated the most interest with UK customers who have visited WoW.
