A day at the races

The Glass Times Race Day at Haydock Park is one of the most popular social events in the glass and glazing industry’s hectic social calendar, with tables sold almost a year in advance of the big day, and sponsorship deals hard to come by.

Having attended the Race Day for many years, it is clear to me what makes the day such a success. It is a mixture of an informal setting, complimentary bar, good food, and the occasional distraction of a winning horse.

Glass Times has taken this winning formula and invested in an annual box at Haydock Park so that you can recreate the success of the Race Day as you entertain clients, reward your best-performing members of staff, or simply have a day out with colleagues.

The box takes 16 guests, and includes a complimentary bar, gourmet buffet lunch, car parking, race cards, box host for the day, and tipster.

During the summer there are Tensational Racedays, which are days at the races followed by a DJ set. The next one is Saturday the May 27 just after the FIT Show and the DJ is Sara Cox.

Also on the theme of promotion, I would like to draw your attention to the directory on our website.

All companies are entitled to a basic entry, which includes the company name and email contact. However, for just £360 a year, an enhanced entry includes company logo, all contact details, a link to the company’s website and social media sites, company biography, and links to all the editorial run online.

We shall be promoting both of these promotions at the show next week, so please join us at the Glass Times Bar for a drink and a chat!
