The official line was that the company had failed after facing a number of pressures, including runaway inflation and poor consumer confidence. βUnseasonablyβ warm weather in September was also singled out as a reason for a reduction in demand for its products.
The increased cost of living β specifically the increased cost of borrowing β was also likely to be a significant contributing factor.
In the following weeks, Anglian Home Improvements announced that it would be taking on the Safestyle order book followed not long after by news that it would also be purchasing the Safestyle brand and intellectual property.
So, could we see a relaunch of the brand in the near future, despite the reputational damage thatβs been done? There are rumours that this might be the case, perhaps operating as a βsweeper brandβ under a more premium product offer from Anglian, whereby anyone that doesnβt have the money for more upmarket windows and doors, can then be Hoovered up by a more budget friendly alternativeβ¦
In other news this week, Brisant Secure has announced that it has acquired Deseo Locking Systems. Based in Essex, Deseo is said to own a number of security patents, including the Automatic Lock Protection System. And Endurance is taking steps to further enhance the reputation of its composite door offer, by launching a new training initiative.
