Rhonda Ridge of Ab Initio, creators of the AdminBase installer management system, talks about the importance of change and offers a sneak peek into what the company will be showing at this year’s FIT.

As the saying goes: “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”

And yet so many of us resist change for one reason or another. It’s understandable because often even when we know a situation isn’t ideal, we would rather stick with what we know. Fear of the unknown outweighs the pain we may be feeling in our current state. But ask yourself this, if not now, when?

The FIT Show offers our industry a great opportunity to see what alternatives are out there and at least investigate what change might look like. As soon as you start researching new ways of working, you may wonder why you haven’t made the change before.

This is often something we hear from installation businesses that have started using AdminBase, the tried, tested and trusted installer management system.

Don’t settle for second best

We don’t believe in settling for second best at AdminBase. It’s a philosophy we want to spread to installation businesses that could be benefitting from a far simpler way of running their business, but it’s an attitude we employ internally too. That’s why we constantly evolve the system, to make sure that it is always delivering precisely what installation companies need.

The AdminBase system will be at this year’s FIT Show on stand J41, with all existing, recent, and brand new features on display. That includes the Pricepoint sales app (representatives from Pricepoint will be attending the show on the AdminBase stand to answer any questions on the sales app specifically), a feature allowing for the collection of digital signatures, a barcode scanning element to further improve efficiencies, our award winning customer portal, and the recently launched Taskboard feature.

This latest element of the system splits each installation into columns in terms of actions that need to be completed throughout the project. From the point of issuing a quote, to the final invoicing stage,

Taskboard lists tasks and allocates resources to each action point, to ensure no part of the business ends up congested with too much work. Users can also drill down from these top-level lists to access further information on the underlying lead or contract, thanks to our all-encompassing system.

Visitors to our stand at the FIT Show will be able to see videos of the whole AdminBase system, but our one to one demos will also be back and as they proved particularly popular last year, we are recommending that people book a time beforehand to secure their slot.

Demos at this year’s show will include a personal walk-through of AdminBase which for existing customers might be a demonstration of a new feature, or for new customers we can demo the whole system. Our friendly and approachable team of AdminBase experts will also be on hand to answer questions and run through any specific points of interest with visitors at the show.

In addition to demonstrating our recent additions, there will be another new launch happening at the FIT Show. We’re not ready to say too much about it just yet, but what we can say is that it’s an extension of AdminBase that will make a big difference to window installation businesses and companies further afield.

Industry exhibitions offer businesses a fantastic opportunity to see what’s out there, how they can do things differently, and possibly start the process of change. Visitors to the AdminBase stand will hopefully realise the potential available to them through the implementation of such a comprehensive CRM system.

It really is a change that is worth making for improved productivity and profitability, and sooner rather than later.
