Project of the year

The Maggie’s Centre in Manchester won Project of the Year (under £10m) award at the annual British Construction Industry Awards held recently at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Bennett Architectural work on the project alongside main contractors Sir Robert McAlpine and architects Foster + Partners.

The centre was built within the grounds of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester and remains the charity’s biggest site to date.

Lionel Grant, managing director at Bennett Architectural, said: “This is now its 13th award since it was opened in 2016 by her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall. The building itself is an architectural statement and were proud to be part of something so worthwhile.”
