New windows for period home

Nottingham-based Paradise Windows recently installed Rehau Total70 windows into a period country home.

Located in the heart of the Nottingham countryside, Felley House is set in two acres of private land. Complete with an indoor pool room, five bedrooms and many additional reception rooms the property boasts over 100 windows.

Paradise Windows replaced the old windows with Rehau Total70 chamfered profiles in white. Z-section profiles were used in the manufacturing to help fit around the stone mullions present in certain windows at the home.

Mark Millward, managing director at Paradise Windows, said: “The owner of Felley House needed to replace the windows as part of a general refurbishment project, but as the property has so many windows, and many are very different, we needed to test one in situ initially.

“At first steel was specified for the windows but it was proving to be very expensive – I suggested PVCU in order to reduce cost but to deliver equivalent results in terms of the profiles.

“We installed a few windows using the TOTAL70 profile to ensure the style suited the property. When the owner saw the profiles installed he was very happy, and we continued with the project over a number of weekends to fit in with wider refurbishment work taking place on site at the same time.”
