Liniar makeover for dormer bungalow

Liniar products have been used to upgrade the aesthetics and energy efficiency of a four-bedroom dormer bungalow.

Fabricator and installer, Eco Window Systems – which was recommended for undertaking the project by family members who’d already used the Hinkley-based company – fitted PVC-U windows, French and bi-fold doors, an Elevate lantern roof, and fascia and soffits to the property

Homeowner, Pardip Virk, said: “The Eco team had done amazing work on my mother-in-law’s home, providing great service and high-quality products that expertly installed. My wife and I therefore trusted them to manage the project on our own property – and they didn’t disappoint!”

Eco Window’s director, Gemma Harrison, commented: “We fully upgraded the property’s old windows using Liniar’s highly energy efficient 70mm EnergyPlus system. By adding bay windows at the front of the building, we created a feature that not only provides instant curb appeal, but also lighter and more spacious rooms.

“Agate grey sills were used for an eye-catching contrast against the cream frames, and we even had the guttering custom sprayed agate grey too. It’s little details like this we feel add a nice touch.”

She continued: “A stylish residential door, flanked by full length sidelights all manufactured using the same Liniar 70mm EnergyPlus profile were installed too. This further increases natural light entering the front of the home and the overall effect is a much cleaner, more contemporary facade.”

Pardip added: “We’re delighted with the result, which gives a stunning first impression of our home. But it’s the conservatory at the rear of the house we’re most pleased with.

“The old polycarbonate conservatory was draughty and leaked during wet weather, so really wasn’t getting used much. It’s a shame because the conservatory connects to a large back garden and should be an enjoyable space.”

Gemma said: “By combining a five-pane bi-fold door along the main wall with French doors at one end, we enabled the conservatory to be completely opened for seamless garden access. We topped this with a lantern roof from Liniar’s Elevate range. It matches the length of the bi-fold door and the roof’s slim sightlines allow maximum natural light into the conservatory.

“The Elevate system is a popular choice amongst our trade and homeowner customers. With its twin-walled top caps it’s extremely energy efficient, while Liniar’s patented weather dam delivers exceptional protection against the elements. The Virk family’s entire conservatory now features glass instead of polycarbonate, meaning a comfortable ambient temperature can be easily maintained all year round.”

Pardip concluded: “The conservatory is getting plenty of use now. It’s such a bright, comfortable space enjoying gorgeous views, and with the new bi-fold doors fully opened it feels like the garden has been brought into the house – we love it!

“The Eco team has done an amazing job, delivering a comprehensive makeover which has completely revitalized the family home. The project has even attracted the attention of a few neighbours who now want their own homes renovated by Eco.”
