Eye-catching facade

Reynaers’ aluminium curtain wall system for facades and roofs has created new angles for a modern office building for French company Groupama in Charters, south west of Paris.

Its building was designed by Agence Franc Gérard and covers 4,400m2, with an envelope in pre-oxidised copper panels. The staggered facade curtain walling, created from Reynaers’ CW 50 multi-level product, incorporates vivid coloured glass inserts.

The CW 50 stick curtain wall system is available in several design and glazing variants and is on show at Reynaers’ Knowledge Centre showroom in Birmingham. It includes different technical options to give maximum flexibility in design, and allows frames to be placed at varying angles both horizontally and vertically, moving away from the traditional uniform grid pattern.

Rebecca Cope, marketing manager at Reynaers, said: “Our extensive range of CW 50 curtain walls meets all the requirements of contemporary architecture. With regard to energy performance, the system offers different solutions, allowing the use of triple glazing – making the facade applicable for passive house or energy efficient buildings.

“What’s more, dedicated opening types can also be seamlessly integrated, such as a parallel opening window, a top hung window, a hidden vent turn and tilt window, plus a flush roof vent for integration in roof applications of CW 50.”

Extensions to the CW 50 system also offer solutions for much heavier glass weights, as well as easy assembly and quick installation, plus improved energy efficiency; the curtain wall system can achieve a thermal insulation Uf value of 0.56W/m2K, depending on the profile combination and variant.

The design variants include curtain walls for both the exterior and the interior of buildings. Glazing variants range from standard pressure plates, structurally glazed and structurally clamped facades.

Unitised curtain wall options are also available within the range, which allow entire panels to be manufactured in the workshop, reducing the time on site.
