Edwardian mill transformation

A former Edwardian mill in Leeds has been restored and turned into a stunning development of luxury apartments by Leeds-based Alpha Aluminium.

Each of the 89 spacious flats at Horsforth Mill have received a new look.

The £11 million project used the JCW curtain walling system to create style without losing the building’s local heritage. The TW70 thermally efficient window system was also commissioned throughout the two-year restoration. The TD68 thermal door that is designed to be a reliable high-traffic commercial aluminium door was also specified.

Marius Miotk, project manager at Alpha Aluminium, said: “We worked closely with Jack Aluminium during the 60-week project to transform the old mill and sensitively restore it. Whenever we order aluminium from Jack Aluminium, the process is always straightforward and that’s what we need when we’ve got deadlines to meet.”

Horsforth Mill was originally the largest textile mill in the north of the England.
