Dutch refurbishment

CDW Systems and Hazlemere Commercial have helped to transform Colchester’s historic Dutch Quarter.

Hazlemere Commercial was approached to upgrade the windows of the picturesque area located in the shadows of Colchester Castle, and chose the Gloucester-based fabricator to manufacture and supply more than 300 Smart VS 600 vertical sliding windows.

The VS 600 helped maintain and protect the heritage aesthetics of the historic quarter which dates back to 1500. Not only does the VS 600 offer the design and operation of a traditional sash window, it delivers the thermal performance, security and durability of aluminium.

Mark Austin, marketing director at Hazlemere Commercial, said: “The authentic design, high specification and ease of operation meant the VS 600 was a great fit for Dutch Quarter. We’ve built up a strong reputation across the region for delivering quality commercial installations across local authorities, educational facilities and heritage buildings like this. That’s only possible through the continued support and expertise of supply partners like CDW Systems.”

Richard Smith, technical director at CDW Systems, said: “Since adding the VS 600 to our range, it has proven to be a very popular product line. It’s just one of a full line-up of high-performance glazing products designed to help both trade and commercial installers meet the demands of any project. We back this up with complete pre-sales support and a full technical back-up from initial enquiry right through to installation and aftercare.”
