Blurred lines

The Renshaw family, who live in Lymington, Hampshire, wanted a new living space to blur the lines between their home and garden and add a contemporary twist to their home.
Their local Ultraframe Ultra Installer, Forest Edge Home Improvements, is located a stone’s throw from the property and they were able to design an orangery-style extension using the newly enhanced Classic Roof.
“We really wanted to enjoy the views of our garden by living on the back of our home and we decided that an orangery would be a beautiful way to do this,” Mrs Renshaw said. “After meeting with James from Forest Edge Home Improvements, he showed us the new look Ultraframe Classic Roof, the Internal Pelmet system, and the external Cornice. Together, they allowed us to create the effect we wanted, but in a much more cost-efficient and contemporary way than a traditionally built orangery.”
Forest Edge designed an 8m-wide contemporary extension, which is topped with a Classic aluminium roof in contemporary black, and features a two-tier black Cornice.
Black aluminium bifolds span the full width of the extension.
“This stunning installation by Forest Edge is the perfect example of how Classic – our original roof with a heritage of almost 40 years – can be the perfect choice for contemporary orangery extensions,” Ultraframe’s marketing director Alex Hewitt said. “The slimline ridge offers a completely different aesthetic to the usual large Classic radius end. Coupled with an aluminium finish to the roof and aluminium bifolds, it’s hard to believe that this ultra-modern roof is the industry’s longest established conservatory roof system.”
