‘Unique’ aluminium rooflight

Sternfenster has signed up to offer the new HiTech Blinds TRL90 Aluminium Rooflight, which is supplied with an automatic motorised blind as standard.

The slimline and thermally broken system features an automatic pleated blind, which can be fully retracted or closed via a wall mounted switch or remote.

Sternfenster’s managing director Mike Parczuk said: “We’ve always been an early-adopter of innovative products, which we’ve identified as delivering opportunity to access new markets or increase market share for our customers.

“The HiTech TRL90 Aluminium Rooflight fits that brief. Automatic integral blinds in a rooflight deliver a very strong sales platform. Supplied as standard and representing a unique offer in the UK, we believe it gives installers an exceptional message and point of differentiation in a growing sector of the market.”

The HiTech TRL90 Rooflight is fitted in exactly the same way as a ‘standard’ aluminium rooflight system, using the same process, with a fix to a suitable upstand and internal plaster boarding.

Its USP is an IGU featuring a fully automatic pleated blind. Operated via a wall mounted switch and remote control, this is opened or closed at the flick of a switch or press of a button, to provide privacy or to control the flow of natural daylight inside the property.

This includes retracting completely behind a ceramic surround when fully closed, giving the HiTech TRL90 Aluminium Rooflight exactly the same appearance as a ‘standard’ aluminium rooflight system.

“The market for aluminium rooflights is growing and featuring an automatic integral blind supplied as standard, the TRL90 is a unique proposition within it,” Ian Woolley, sales director at Hitech Blinds, said.

“We believe it represents an exceptional platform for installers and builders across home improvement and commercial markets, plus retro-fit to suitable pre-existing flat roofs.”

IGUs feature a laminated softcoat inner pane, warm-edge spacer and 6mm tough outer-pane and are argon filled as standard, achieving U-values as low as 1.0W/m2K. They also feature EnduroShield easy-clean surface coating technology. In addition to standard double-glazed units, HiTech also supplies triple-glazed options and 33mm walk-on-glass.
