Special expansion
The Boing Boing Group has made investments across its PVCU and aluminium fabrication companies, including new machinery and factory expansion at its base in the West Midlands, in a bid to meet the demand for high-end, specialist window and door products.
“2018 was a pivotal year for The Boing Boing Group,” Gary Morton, group CEO, said. “CentralRPL has completed the full system move to Optima, including the addition of the Flush Casement, and our aluminium business – CentralASL – continues to go from strength to strength.
“We’ve introduced a complete end-to end colour service – Central Inspired – which allows our customers to choose any product in any colour. While continuing to deliver on customer expectations, we’ve also been working hard behind the scenes to make these changes and everything is starting to come together.
“We have a great team in place and are delivering an exceptional product range, backed up by excellent service. As we look forward to the next 12 months, service and further product development will continue to be at the core of our strategy, but what we need is the right tools and space to support this.”
The company took the opportunity to expand when the unit adjacent to its existing factory in West Bromwich became available. It has dedicated this additional 7,500ft2 to specialist products, such as the Flush Casement and TimberCore composite doors, and had the opportunity to reconfigure some of its other production lines and create space for new machinery to improve overall capacity.
While CentralRPL’s PVCU lines has been a main focus during the system move, CentralASL has been outgrowing its original aluminium production line. Therefore, the company invested in a new Emmegi four-axis CNC machine to boost production capacity by 30%.
