Saint-Gobain Glass has launched a shatterproof safety mirror called Miralite Easysafe. According to Saint-Gobain, it delivers enhanced safety performance in comparison to standard mirrors and does not require the application of safety film during processing thanks to an anti-shatter resin that retains 98% of splinters in the event of breakage.
The anti-shatter resin is applied at Saint-Gobain’s factory during a single-step industrial process, removing the need for the application of a safety film at the processing stage. This patented innovation is also said to provide a consistent, high-quality finish.
Saint-Gobain says that this results in a mirror that is safe and simple to work with, that can be easily cut to size whilst requiring no specific primer. The durability performance of Miralite Easysafe also exceeds the EN 1036-1 European standard for mirrors.
To support Saint-Gobain’s commitment to the environment, Miralite Easysafe is manufactured without plastic film and generates less waste.
