Prefix reduces cost of Opal rooflight

Prefix Systems launched its Opal flat rooflight in 2017 to add to its range of glazed roof products. The rooflight is an innovative design which allows both double and triple glazed options to be specified.

The slimline, thermally broken frame utilises a hidden fixing bracket which can be secured from the inside. This means no external fixings are visible or accessible and according to Prefix, this makes the Opal rooflight one of the most secure products of its type.

Prefix Systems’ Chris Cooke, commented: “We designed the Opal rooflight to be easy to install but more importantly, security was at the forefront of our thoughts. The fixing straps have been purposely designed, interlocking into the main frame by simply twisting into place.

“The straps are then secured into the kerb directly on the inside face, which means there are no screws or fixings shown and no fiddly clips or hooks that can be tampered with from the outside.”

Opal has also been designed to outperform its rivals with regards to thermal performance.

Chris continued: “The ability to specify triple glazing sets the Opal rooflight apart from others, the thermally broken mainframe is slimline, maximising the glass area. The standard double-glazed option provides a U value of 1.2 but this is surpassed by the triple glazed option which reduces the U value to an unrivalled 0.6.”

On operational improvements Chris said: “The Opal rooflight has really proved popular with our customers, we’ve seen a steady rise in orders every year since launch and late last year we invested in a brand new machining centre to improve capacity and efficiency.

“As a result this meant a cost saving in our production process. With this in mind and on the back of various industry price increases over the past couple of years, we’ve decided to pass a proportion of this cost saving back to our customers.

“Therefore, we have reduced the prices of all Opal rooflights from February onwards. The new prices are available to all users of our online quote / ordering platform, simply log in to the system and your new prices will be updated.”

The Opal rooflight is available in any bespoke size and prices include delivery. In addition there are three stock sizes available at an even more competitive rate and available for quick delivery.
