New buzz around fly screens

Searches for fly screens have reached a three-year high, according to the latest figures from Google Trends, and this upturn is converting to more sales for installers of aïr Screens from Everglade.

Proving popular for homeowners who are installing wide-span doors in their homes, aïr Screens are dual-purpose and stop flies and other insects entering the home on summer days, as well as acting as a privacy screen and sunshade.

Jay Patel, aïr brand ambassador, said: “It’s no surprise to learn that searches are up for fly screen products, as we have seen a significant upturn in trade enquiries for our aïr Screens. With the combination of people spending more time at home and the warm weather we had during lockdown, many homeowners have realised the downside to having bifold and lift and slide doors wide open: the bugs.

“aïr Screens have a sleek design and neatly fold away when they aren’t being used. When doors are open, they are easy to glide across door openings to keep the flies out but let the cool breeze in. This product offers an excellent cross-selling opportunity for installers, especially throughout the summer months.

“The depth of the aïr Screen frames is only 31mm, so it does not protrude into the living space. And the system is available in configurations up to 4.5m wide, for even the largest wide-span bifold and lift and slide doors installations.”
