Family-owned window and door company Joedan has selected Eurocell as its PVC-U profile systems partner as it prepares to begin manufacturing Eurocell Logik products at its Isle of Wight operation.

Founded in 1985 by John and Nicky Purcaro, Joedan has grown into an established designer, manufacturer and installer of aluminium and PVC-U windows and doors. Three generations of the family are now involved in the business, which operates design centres in Tewkesbury, Winchester and Newport on the Isle of Wight.

The new partnership marks an important step in Joedan’s long-term growth strategy, bringing PVC-U fabrication into its own manufacturing operation and complementing its established aluminium capabilities.

Joedan will initially manufacture the Logik chamfered system, with Eurocell’s engineering team working alongside Joedan to establish the factory, train its production team and prepare the manufacturing line for full production. This will be followed by ongoing technical, commercial and specification support as Joedan develops its PVC-U offering.

Joseph Purcaro, managing director at Joedan, said:

“Bringing PVC-U manufacturing into our own operation is an important part of Joedan’s next phase of growth. It will give us greater control over quality, supply and customer service while allowing us to offer a stronger combination of aluminium and PVC-U products.

“We chose Eurocell because it is a recognised and trusted brand, but equally important was the quality of the people behind it. The communication and support from David and the wider Eurocell team have been superb.

“We see this as a long-term partnership that will help us build our manufacturing capability steadily and sustainably, without compromising the quality standards on which Joedan has built its reputation.”

The initial focus will be on supporting Joedan’s established retail operation before the company expands its presence in trade supply, new build and light-commercial markets.

Joedan sees particular potential in education, care, local-authority and refurbishment projects, where its ability to manufacture both aluminium and PVC-U products will enable it to offer a broader and more competitive package.

The business already operates within a comprehensive framework of independently assessed product, fabrication and installation standards, with accreditations including British Standards certification and auditing, PAS 24, FENSA and Secured by Design recognition.

Joseph added:

“For a business of our size, the breadth of standards we work to is relatively unusual, but it gives customers confidence in how we manufacture and install our products.”

David Woolley, head of sales at Eurocell, said: “Joedan is a highly respected family business with more than 40 years of industry experience and a clear ambition for the future. From the outset, it was evident that the business wanted more than a profile supplier.

“Joedan’s strong family ethos, commitment to quality and ambition to grow make it a natural fit for Eurocell. Our teams are fired up and working closely with the business to ensure the right people, processes and technical foundations are in place before full production begins.

“We are delighted that Joedan has placed its trust in Eurocell and look forward to supporting the business as the first Logik products come off the line in November and as its future plans develop.”

The partnership forms part of Joedan’s wider investment programme on the Isle of Wight. Through a phased programme of development, the business intends to increase production capacity, establish a trade offering and use Eurocell’s specification expertise to grow its commercial and new-build opportunities.

Joedan founder John Purcaro said:

“Joedan has always been built around family values, trusted relationships and doing the right thing for our customers. More than 40 years after we started the business, it is extremely rewarding to see three generations of our family involved and planning for its future.

“The Eurocell partnership gives us a strong foundation for the next chapter. It brings together Joedan’s experience and ambition with Eurocell’s products, people and technical capability.

“We have always believed in investing for the long term. Even in a challenging market, businesses must continue to develop their people, products and facilities if they want to create something that will last for future generations.”
