Solar Windows has joined forces with door seal specialist Norseal, to bring a new fire door inspection service for Fire Doors by Solar.
Using Norseal’s ‘Inspect’ app, Solar Windows will offer a complete fire door supervision programme, helping to maintain compliant installation, management and maintenance of fire doors.
The benefits provided by the Inspect by Norseal app, ensure a strict manufacturing and maintenance record, which is easily identifiable on each doorset. This information is, in turn, retained on a dashboard, providing a critical cradle to grave record, from manufacture through to installation and maintenance, in line with Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) guidelines.
This partnership endorses the Solar Windows commitment to safety and certification. Its GRP FD30S composite door range has undergone a series of stringent testing to EN163-1, including bi-directional furnace testing, with construction traceability through an audited system back to the individual components of the door. The door has been tested for smoke to EN1634-3 Sa and S200 and is accredited to Secure by Design for Fire and Security.
In addition, Solar Windows has endeavoured to use its own primary test evidence and has the whole range third-party accredited, ensuring it exceeds DLUHC Smoke and Security compliancy requirements.
John Lewis, contracts director of Solar Windows said: “We are in fact undertaking further testing, to increase the range and scope of our doors. Now, with the addition of the Inspect app from Norseal, we are sure our customers will have even greater confidence in these products.”
