Kömmerling says it has designed its vertical sliding system to maximise opportunities for installers in the heritage market.

“Heritage windows are proving incredibly popular in both traditional and modern properties, but often the homeowners buying them are particularly discerning,” said Gareth Parton, sales and marketing director of Kömmerling, “which is why we have invested in making sure we can deliver the whole package where vertical sliders are concerned.

“The Kömmerling VS system offers characterful aesthetics, excellent energy efficiency and security, a technically better design, and sustainable credentials. All at a reasonable price to help get the sale over the line.

“The system is fully reinforced with galvanised steel to strengthen the sash, but this reinforcement also provides a strong and secure fixing point for handles, latches, and other components. We also use high quality Caldwell spiral balances as standard to ensure the windows maintain their equilibrium,” he continued.

“The corners of the Kömmerling VS system can be Graf welded as an option, to ensure a smooth finish and the system continues to mirror traditional features with its run-through sash horns and sculpted Astragal bars. We also offer a deep bottom rail option and there is the possibility for both sashes to slide.”

The vertical slider system from Kömmerling can achieve a Window Energy Rating of ‘A’ with double glazed units and is available in a wide range of single and dual colours to meet the requirements of modern and more traditional properties. It is also available in a range of shapes and styles and although it comes with equal sized top and bottom sashes as standard, it can be manufactured to other split ratios.

“The market is still fragile,” said Gareth, “so installers need to be able to say yes to every project that comes their way. We have tried to ensure that we have covered all bases with plenty of options in our VS system. Installers can also reassure their customers that the system originated from a sustainable supplier because we were one of the first manufacturers to move away from lead-based stabilisers in favour of more environmentally friendly calcium zinc-based alternatives.

“Additionally, we were a founding member of an industry-wide project to implement a closed-loop recycling system whereby old PVC-U windows and doors are recycled and used to make new windows and doors. For the eco-conscious consumer, these extra measures matter.”
