More than just trickle vents
Titon has announced that while it is well-known for its trickle ventilators, it has many more strings to its bow; since 1972, the company has designed, manufactured and sold a range of window and door hardware, including handles, hinges and locking systems.
Titon’s hardware has been used throughout the UK and globally by housebuilders, local authorities, non-residential developers, social landlords, and private individuals.
Titon has invested heavily in research and development, even creating Area 24, its own specialist research, development and testing division, dedicated to ensuring hardware adheres to the latest industry standards, such as PAS 24.
The company also distributes hardware from companies such as Maco and Sobinco.
Tyson Anderson, sales and marketing director at Titon, said: “Although many people associate Titon with ventilation, our ability to produce window and door hardware dates back a long way, to when we first began manufacturing our own handles in the early 1970s. Since then, we have developed our facilities and portfolio to include items such as friction hinges, high security shootbolts and door cylinders. We can cater to a price sensitive market, across premium areas in window and door materials – including timber, PVCU and aluminium.”
One such product is the Asterion high security door cylinder. This anti-intervention profile door cylinder is TS007 Kitemarked 3-Star by the BSI, as well as tested to BS EN 1303:2005. It also has Secured by Design (SBD) status.
Titon’s range of handles, espagnolettes, and hinge and locking systems include the Select and Overture window handles which feature push button opening, self-latching closure, refined ergonomics, easy operation to reduce wear and tear, and a high-quality finish.
