Increased speed for demand

Bedfordshire Windows has invested in a new TT405 Double Mitre Saw from Haffner Murat.

Tom Pitts, director at Bedfordshire Windows, said: “We saw a dramatic uplift in sales following the first lockdown and we needed to upscale our production fast. Automation gives us the ability to do this quickly and easily. The TT405 Double Mitre Saw automates profile cutting and gives us the speed we needed.”

The machine is the second Bedfordshire has purchased from Haffner Murat. Last year, the company invested in a FOM Industrie Adir C CNC Machining Centre to help meet growing demand for its aluminium bifolding doors.

“We knew from our experiences dealing with Haffner last year that we could trust their ability to meet all our requirements when we needed new machinery this year,” Tom said.

Production at Bedfordshire Windows trebled in 2020 and it has taken on an additional 17 members of staff. It currently supplies trade customers within a 50-mile radius of its Kempston base and has plans to expand further.

The company recently moved into a new 7,000ft2 manufacturing plant.
