Howells Patent Glazing has launched the Horizon Pergola, a premium, year-round aluminium pergola system designed for easy on-site installation for tradespeople.
Designed and manufactured at the company’s Black Country factory, Howells says that the permanent outdoor living solution draws on decades of structural glazing expertise to deliver a ‘robust, high-performance kit’ that minimises labour time.
“We know that for builders and installers, time on-site is money and call-backs can erode margin,” said Tracey Jackson, business development manager for Howells Patent Glazing.
“The Horizon Pergola uses our proven aluminium glazing bar technology, meaning it goes together predictably and easily. Every major component is pre-drilled at our factory for speed, ease and accuracy on-site.”
Built to last
Engineered to withstand the British weather, the standard configuration complies with EN 1991 for typical wind and snow loads. It features an integrated guttering system with external downpipes routed down the structural posts for a clean finish.
The pergola system comes with 8.8mm laminated tinted glass roofing as standard. The roof pitch is approximately 5 degrees for effective water run-off. To suit varying client budgets and requests, installers can also specify 10mm polycarbonate or unglazed options.
Ready for site
To ensure a smooth installation, the pergola is supplied with an instruction manual, all standard fixings for frame assembly and post base shoes. The glass is supplied loose as standard for safer handling on-site.
The pergola must be anchored to a suitable structural base, typically concrete. Fixing anchors can be supplied upon request; however, installers must verify suitability for their specific site conditions.
The Horizon Pergola range is available in four, six and eight pane options. The aluminium frame is powder coated in RAL 7016 anthracite grey matt for durability. Clients can request non-standard or dual-colours at an additional cost. The pergola is custom-made to order typically on a 4-6 week lead time.
