FIT and fully furnished

With the FIT Show just around the corner, Selecta Systems’ sales director Andy Green, and marketing manager Mark Walker, talk about what to expect from Selecta as the team descends on the industry’s leading fabricator and installer show.

The FIT Show provides Selecta with the perfect platform to formally reveal a range of new supplementary products and exciting product development news that will extend and complement the versatility of the Advance 70 Window and Door Profile System.

We see these innovations and developments greatly enhancing the appeal of the Advance 70 System to fabricators and installers even further.

The Link70 Frame Connection System is a fast-fit pre-glazed frame connection solution for the Advance 70 System. The fitter-friendly Link70 System allows frames to be fully fabricated and arrive on site pre-glazed, with the fast fit solution consisting of a 24mm frame connector, a square post connector and variable angle connector. The aluminium connectors have been designed with installers of the Advance 70 System in mind, with PVCU cover strips available in standard white and a host of foiled colours.

Also included within the Link70 Frame Connection System is a sill connector, which can be fitted to sills thus providing a ‘snap’ and quick fitting frame to sill connection solution. Again, this is advantageous to installers on site to help with the installation process and increase fitting efficiency. The Link70 Frame Connection System will be demonstrated on our stand over the course of the FIT Show.

Selecta recognised a resurgence in demand for patio doors. It’s this renaissance that has seen Selecta invest in the technical development and advancement of its patio door system.

We have worked very closely with ERA hardware in the development of a new interlock and door locking system that has given us a PAS 24: 2016 and Document Q compliant patio door solution. What is distinctive about the new interlock and door locking system is that it can be retro-fitted to existing Selecta patio doors, enabling a full retrospective upgrade kit to PAS 24. We’ve also added a new low threshold option to the patio door, which will be launched at the FIT Show.

The FIT Show will also see Selecta launch upgraded PAS 24 options for the Advance 70 Systems casement and flush sash windows, residential and French doors as we look to the new-build market, an area that Selecta is looking to penetrate further.

News that the government is committed to a build target of 300,000 new homes per year by the mid 2020s is a well needed boost for the construction industry. Selecta’s aim is to target further penetration within the new-build and commercial market with the Advance 70 Window and Door System.

The FIT Show allows us to explain and exhibit the technical benefits of the Advance 70 System and educate fabricators and installers of the systems qualities and capabilities when it comes to the new build sector. The PAS 24 and Document Q options endorse this further and provide fabricators and installers greater options and opportunities when it comes to new-build projects.

We’ve taken a very different approach to our stand design this year, with the emphasis on hospitality and openness, which certainly reflects the very nature of Selecta and provides a welcoming platform to all visitors. The ‘less is more’ approach to product placement has been taken, which will enable a more technically focused view of our products without segregating and closing parts of the stand with large windows and doors.

The hospitality emphasis encourages visitors to the stand to meet and greet the Selecta family and have that friendly chat in a comfortable environment. We also encourage visitors to join us for our stand party on the Tuesday evening, have a drink while engaging in conversation in a more relaxed atmosphere, although we can’t guarantee our stand will be quiet during those three hours.
