ODL Europe says that it has the composite door range to help fabricators and installers make the most of increasing consumer demand to ‘make a modern statement’ with their front door.
Suzanne Nicholl, business development manager, commented: “While traditional designs such as our Deco range remain popular, we are also seeing a clear increase in demand for composite doors that have a more modern feel.”
Suzanne says two designs that are particularly popular are the Moderne Nelson and the Moderne Albert.
The Moderne Nelson is a contemporary door with three striking central glazed squares. The horizontal panels are designed to add an extra level of interest while the smooth finish is said to keep the look ‘clean and uncluttered’.
According to ODL Europe, the Moderne Albert ‘epitomises modern styling’. It features four rectangular glazed panels that can run horizontally or vertically and sit to the left right or centre of the door.
Suzanne commented: “What’s interesting is that both these doors have a smooth, clean finish. It shows that today’s consumers want all the practical benefits of a composite door without necessarily recreating traditional timber styling.”

The Capstone 44mm door slab is manufactured using 2mm thick GRP SMC skins. Stiles and rails are manufactured from a water-resistant pure PVC polymer and reinforced using LVL (Laminated Veneered Lumber) timbers with a minimum density of 570 kg/m3. The SMC skins and sub-frame door assembly are fully bonded using a urethane adhesive resin.
The slabs achieve a U value as low as 0.8W/m2k as part of a doorset assembly. And when used with SecureDesign board reinforcing and an ODL Europe glazing cassette system it achieves a security level to PAS24:2016. All slabs are covered by a 25-year structural guarantee while the pre-coloured slabs are covered by a 10-year warranty.
Alongside the Capstone slab there is also a range of 38 unique decorative glass options designed to match the door slabs, plus a range of PAS-24 accredited glazing cassettes, including the Trisys, and Blink Blinds + Glass encapsulated blinds.
It is also home to the award-winning Guardsman fire door.
