Celebrating success

AB Glass is celebrating the success its new Access Control division, after a year of operation.

The division has significantly enhanced AB Glass’ service offering, the company said, helping it become a one-stop shop for manufactured aluminium and access control products for both the domestic and commercial markets.

The new product range includes automatic door services and installations, video entry systems, smoke vents, and fingerprint reader systems. It also fits cloud-based access control systems for student accommodation and hotels and specialises in Disabled Funded Grant (DFG) adaption doors, including a fully certified automatic domestic door with fob access.

The division’s recent clients include JCP Solicitors, which needed biometric access control technology across six of the company’s sites to improve its security and entry provision. An updated security system was needed to meet the needs of JCP Solicitors’ modern workforce, who frequently work across the firm’s various office locations. The project saw AB Access Control undertake the installation of a Connective Touch Flexi Gold unit, including biometric door readers, high security video entry, and keypad access control. The new system offers efficient entry using fingerprint recognition, alleviating the need for access via swipe cards and pin codes.

Justin John, access control director at AB Glass, said the new access control division helped the company address a broader range of client needs.

“Our Access Control division offers AB Glass’s clients a complete solution for doors and access control while providing an efficient single point of contact for the service,” he said. “We are able to collaborate with the end user to design the bespoke access systems they want before projects are tendered to main contractors, meaning the client always has the specified systems they require. Our approach limits delays and time on-site for contractors and is therefore highly cost effective for the client.”
