Bifold benchmark
The FIT Show marked the launch of what Aluk predicts will be ‘the new benchmark in bifolds’ – the Luminia F82.
The new door, which will be on sale in July, has been designed for the residential and light commercial sector, with slim sightlines, bespoke flush hardware and smooth HD compact rollers as standard.
It boasts U-values of 1.34W/m²K with a double glazed unit, and has been re-engineered by Aluk so that it has thinner sightlines than its existing BSF70 bifold door. At the interlock, it measures 122mm, which is 18mm less than the BSF70, and at the frame, cill and jamb, it measures 33mm less, providing larger expanses of glazing.
It also features an improved version of the pop up T-handle from the BSF70, which is unique to Aluk, and stylish new bespoke flush hardware for the traffic door. This hardware is combined with a new gearbox and HD compact rollers.
The design team at Aluk has even reduced the number of aluminium profiles and gaskets required to fabricate the F82, meaning it is easy to manufacture with reduced stock holding required.
