With research revealing that there were 644,000 domestic burglary incidents in England and Wales last year, and with 70% of these burglars gaining entry through a door, it is now more important than ever that maximum-security locks are in place to offer protection from potential break-ins, Yale has announced.
The Platinum 3-Star Cylinder is Yaleβs most secure lock yet, and the company is offering a Β£1,000 guarantee if the cylinder is snapped under attack due to a forced break-in.
Paul Atkinson, sales and commercial director of Yale Door and Window Solutions, said: βThe anti-snap cylinder guarantee promises consumers that one of the crucial components of the door β the profile cylinder β is supplied by an experienced, market-leading manufacturer. The guarantee truly demonstrates the confidence we have in our product here at Yale, generating a feeling of trust for the consumer.
βThe Yale Platinum 3-Star Cylinder provides maximum security against known attack methods, and it can be suited and re-pinned at Yaleβs head office in the Midlands or by Kitemark approved stockists. It has also been independently tested by BSI to be awarded theΒ British KitemarkΒ TS007:2014 3-StarΒ accreditation, a standard developed in response to concerns around cylinder attacks.β
The 3 Star Cylinder has also been tested to theΒ British Standard BS EN1303:2005 and is Secured by Design approved.
As well as being anti-snap, anti-bump, anti-pick and anti-drill, the Yale Platinum 3 Star Cylinder also features a sacrificial front section.
