‘Adaptable’ lift and slide system

A complete lift and slide system – the HS Portal – designed for a range of sliding door configurations has been launched by Coastal Group.

The HS Portal from Coastal provides multiple features and benefits including: a new concealed hook lock system; improved weather sealing; and soft close and open option.

Further options from the new system include the opportunity to upgrade it to Coastal’s Hollodeen Threshold.

The new HS Portal from Coastal is available in seven different scheme configurations – from one sliding door and fixed outer door through to a four sliding doors and two fixed outer door system.

The lift and slide action is activated by the door handle lowering the sliding leaf a few millimetres into the closed position, compressing the weather seals, and engaging the hook locks for high security and draught-proofing. An internal cylinder lock provides additional security.

The door can be lowered at any point along its track to prevent it from moving while open. When the sash is lifted, the seals disengage from the frame allowing a smooth friction-free operation, even on large doors. This action prevents flat spots being created on the wheels, a typical flaw with bottom rolling straight sliding door systems.

Coastal Group MD Loren Jenner said: “We first unveiled the HS Portal at W16 and there was a great deal of interest surrounding it. We’ve designed the HS Portal to offer a seamless, simple system for a wide range of sliding door configurations. With high quality components, innovative options such as our soft close/open, Hollodeen thresholds and a range of handle finishes, it’s got everything needed to fit a quality sliding door system.”
