A door to opportunity

Aluk’s Luminia F82 the ideal product for customers who want to tap into the £250 billion savings mountain which the Bank of England estimates affluent households have accumulated after almost a year in various forms of lockdown, the company has announced.

The F82 includes contemporary design features, including slim sightlines, which measure a consistent 97mm all the way round the frame, sill and jamb, and just 122mm at the interlock.

There is also a distinctive pop-up T-handle on the traffic door. Available in white, black, anthracite, silver and brushed stainless-steel, this handle has been rigorously tested to 25,000 cycles, equivalent to around 80 years of regular use.

Heavy duty 150kg capacity stainless steel compact rollers on the bottom of the F82 ensure that it opens and closes smoothly and effortlessly time after time, while withstanding anything the British weather can throw at it.

The Aluk F82 bifold has achieved PAS24 security accreditation, ensuring that it can be fitted in newbuild projects that require compliance with Approved Document Q, and it boasts U-values of 1.34W/m2K (double glazed) and 0.9W/m2K (triple glazed).

One of the biggest advantages of the F82 for fabricators that it can be manufactured using just four key profiles and a reduced number of gaskets, the company said. This simplifies manufacturing and significantly reduces the necessary stockholding.

For installers, integrated sills have a new outer frame profile, which can be easily clipped onto either side of the frame rather than sitting on top, and an extensive range of sub sills mean the F82 can be positioned in virtually any construction.

Sioned Roberts, Aluk’s marketing director, said: “With the F82, we’ve used all of Aluk’s vast experience and expertise in bifolds to create a door which is quick and easy to manufacture and install yet can command a premium in a market where there has all too often been a race to the bottom on price.”
