The BFRC has announced that Richard Sellman will be leaving his role as managing director of the business, but has confirmed that day to day operations with Richard at the helm will remain unchanged for the foreseeable future.

With over 30 years’ experience in the IGU and window industry, Richard joined the BFRC in 2023, having previously worked for a number of multi-national organisations as well as smaller UK based enterprises.

His time at BFRC has seen the organisation reinvent itself, with the introduction of a laboratory in Telford and the launch of new accreditations and services.

Tim Simmons, CEO of the GGF Group, commented:

β€œDuring his time with BFRC, Richard has made a significant contribution to the business and to the wider industry. His technical knowledge, experience and relationships across the sector have been extremely valuable, and I would like to thank him personally for the contribution he has made.

β€œAlthough Richard will be leaving his current role, I am pleased that this will not mark the end of his relationship with BFRC or the GGF Group. From October, Richard will continue to work with us under a consultancy arrangement, providing specialist support, sharing his considerable knowledge and experience, and helping us with the next stage of BFRC’s development.”

Richard commented:

β€œThe BFRC has a long history of raising standards in the industry, being the first to deliver measurable and understandable performance ratings for windows and remaining the most trusted ratings provider in the UK. We’ve achieved a great deal in recent years and although I am stepping away from the role of MD, I’m excited to continue to build on that trajectory in the coming months in my consultancy role.”
