Distinction Doors has reported that sales of prepped doors, supplied complete with the company’s glazed units, have more than doubled in the first half of 2019 compared with a similar period last year, with an increase of 109%.

Additionally, sales of glass units alone have grown by more than one third compared to a similar period last year. This growth has come from customers of Distinction Doors who prefer to glaze the units themselves and from fabricators choosing to glaze doors of other brands with the Distinction product.

The sales increases more than justify the company’s decision three years ago to launch its own range of glazing units, the company said.

Distinction’s sales and marketing director Chantel Roach said: “There has been a significant increase in the number of prepped doors that we sell with sales now accounting for 40% of our annual turnover, a figure that is increasing exponentially.

“Within this it is clear that the quality of our glazed units has driven much of this growth, with increasing numbers choosing to have their doors prepped to include the glass once they have had the opportunity to examine the choice and quality. Of course, we are delighted that our glazed units are also attracting a lot of attention from fabricators currently using other door brands, who are also turning to Distinction for their glass.”
