The Midlands’ best

MiGlass won Best Business Innovation at the recent Sandwell Business Awards, a partnership between Sandwell College in the West Midlands, Sandwell Council, and Sandwell Business Solutions Centre.

MiGlass won the award in recognition of its investment in machinery, factory space and people to create a solution for producing balustrade panels.

Balustrades made from MiGlass-produced toughened glass can be found in schools, shopping centres and offices across the world. The new vertical CNC line resulted in MiGlass creating several new jobs as well as taking on three young people as apprentices. The project was supported with an LEP grant.

MiGlass operations director Glenn Bicknell and managing director Alan Taylor were presented with the award at a ceremony at Sandwell College by Jan Britton, chief executive of Sandwell Council, and Sameena Ali-Khan of Central TV.
