Single source choice
Merlin Network, which is part of Saveheat Group, made the decision at the end of 2018 to single source from Kömmerling.
On the back of this, the group decided to open up the Blairs brand, which is known for timber windows, to the Kömmerling brand and range of window and door systems.
Merlin considered product design, performance and quality, and the fact that the management team felt that Kömmerling would be a better all-round business partner for them as a group.
The demands of the Scottish market often require better performing products, the company said, and the System 70, newly launched System 76, along with the PremiLine patio door now form the core product proposition under the Blairs and Merlin Network brands.
