GS-MR PRO:Load automates loading of new Lisec IG lines
GS-MR Robotics latest PRO:Load installations are set to become the principal automated process loading onto two of Lisec’s latest specification automated IG manufacturing lines at Press Glass UK’s new high-tech manufacturing site in Port Talbot, south Wales.
GS-MR’s ‘Industrial Innovation’ award winning PRO:Load has recently been further developed to specifically accommodate the increased demand within the domestic IGU market.
GS-MR’s UK and USA patented process, with further global patents pending, uniquely loads a glass pane on its edge via a special gripper, eliminating any requirement for vacuum operation. The unique process does not touch special coatings and, with the proactive pre-load verification process, production cost savings are ensured via proven reductions in rework.
With an ergonomic footprint IRO 26 sqm and patented process the GS-MR PRO:Load achieves ‘the previously unachievable’, according to Robert Owen, GS-MR director.
Robert said: “Our original discussions with Press Glass UK in 2018 regarding the future of the glass industry highlighted many issues being experienced by processors today.
“As the industry evolves and embraces robotic automation, Press Glass UK maintains its lead by continuing to incorporate GS-MR’s meaningful automation.”
Paula Owen, GS-MR director, said: “We designed the GS-MR PRO:Load with the approach of improving quality by aiming to process the glass pane right first time – no other system currently available worldwide even remotely matches the proactive specification of our patented process.
“Despite knowing the infinite recycling properties of glass we instead chose to ‘get it right first time’, enabling reductions in customer carbon footprints via improved manufacturing processes whilst reducing wastage of raw materials. A meaningful, proactive approach will always have the edge over an historical reactive process.”
