Foiling capacity expanded

Victorian Sliders has invested a further £250,000 in expanding its foiling operation adding a fourth state-of-the-art FUX machine to the three it already owns.

The latest purchase comes after both an increase in demand for foiled profiles, and booming business more generally, the company said.

Group managing director Andy Jones said: “A year ago, we were foiling 31% of the profiles we produced, but now that’s grown to 33%.”

However, the south Wales firm is also making more frames.

“In 2019, we were averaging around 1,440 frames a week,” Andy said. “In 2021, we’re averaging over 500 frames every day – which means we’ve got a lot more foiling to do.

“By the end of 2021, we intend to spend over £3 million in capital investment, and we’ve spent around £1 million of that already, refitting and expanding our regional depots into modern sales offices.

“Over the next 12 months, we want to increase our sealed unit capacity, and plan to purchase another automated line, and a second toughening plant, which will be larger than the one we have already.

“We’ll also be significantly expanding our extrusion capacity, adding four more extrusion lines to make 11 in total.

“It’s all part of our long-standing commitment to futureproofing the business, and bringing outstanding sash window products to thousands more installers around the country at the most competitive price.”
