Factory investment
Universal Composite Doors has invested more than £1.25 million in a new 27,000ft2 factory along with new plant and equipment.
The new factory is situated next to the A1307 (formerly the A14) 15 miles north of Cambridge, with access to good road delivery network.
The move supports the company’s vision of ‘any style of door in any RAL sprayed colour supplied in 10 working days’, and provides the necessary infrastructure for scale.
The company, which manufactures doors using Liniar or Duraflex profile, Yale multi-point locks and SFS adjustable hinges, said the market is currently driven by developments in residential markets, along with new construction and renovation.
Manging director Neil Peck said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for the team at Universal.”
Haydon Statham, who has previously worked with Neil Peck, has been appointed as the new sales director. There have been other new appointments within the office team, and there is an ongoing recruitment campaign for factory operatives and drivers.
