Eurocell has worked in partnership with Windowmaker to support the development of a new U-value and G-value calculation solution, designed to help fabricators meet the growing compliance demands of the Future Homes Standard and upcoming changes to new build regulations.

The solution is part of Windowmaker’s existing compliance and quoting software, with Eurocell collaborating over the past two years to integrate its verified thermal performance data directly into the platform used by fabricators across the UK and Europe.

The launch comes as the industry prepares for a fundamental shift in how window and door performance is evidenced under future energy modelling frameworks, with a move towards more granular, product-specific calculations expected to replace today’s more standardised approaches.

Historically, fabricators have often been able to rely on single calculations across multiple window configurations. However, under the Future Homes Standard and the transition to the Home Energy Model (HEM), individual U-value and G-value calculations will increasingly be required for each frame specification, significantly increasing the complexity of compliance.

To support this shift, Eurocell has spent more than two years working with Windowmaker to embed over 10,000 validated data points from across its product range into the system.

The solution uses verified Eurocell performance data to automatically calculate U-values, G-values and frame factors, integrating directly into existing quoting workflows so calculations update instantly as configurations change. It has been designed to produce outputs suitable for compliance and certification requirements, while reducing the need for manual calculation and easing the administrative burden on fabricators.

Eurocell says the early collaboration has helped ensure its product data is already integrated into the system ahead of wider industry adoption of more detailed compliance requirements, supporting fabricators as they prepare for regulatory change.

Gary Doxey, head of commercial operations & technical sales at Eurocell, said: “The Future Homes Standard will significantly change how window and door performance is evidenced, particularly as compliance becomes more granular and product-specific.

“This shift means fabricators will need access to accurate, reliable data at a much more detailed level than before, and that is exactly what we’ve been working with Windowmaker to support.

“By investing over two years in developing and validating our technical data and integrating it into Windowmaker’s platform, we’ve been able to help ensure fabricators can work within familiar systems while preparing for evolving requirements.

“Our focus is giving answers to the questions that we are being asked by fabricators and housebuilders, at a time when the industry is facing significant change.”

Remi Gruszka, head of sales UK & Europe at Windowmaker, said:

“We’ve worked closely with Eurocell to integrate their verified performance data into our platform to ensure fabricators can generate accurate, compliant calculations quickly and consistently within their existing workflows.

“As regulatory requirements become more detailed, particularly around product-specific performance data, collaborations like this are essential in helping the industry adapt without adding unnecessary complexity to day-to-day operations.”

The solution is said to reflect wider industry trends towards digitalisation and data-led compliance, as manufacturers and fabricators prepare for increased reporting requirements under future building regulations.
