Business down under
It is almost exactly 10 years since Business Micros completed its first software installation in Australia, and sales and installation expert Nick Bailey marked the anniversary by making the trip down under once again to complete yet another machine installation.
He spent a week in Allansford, in the Western district of Victoria, with Rehau fabricator Thermosmart Windows, linking its Evolution manufacturing software with a new Kaban SB3011 machining centre.
While he was there, he also met up with Paul Gerrard, the MD of Energy Efficient Windows, who flew in from Brisbane so that Nick could update his Evolution software and set up another trade customer on his EvoSatellite ordering system.
Ten years on, Nick said that the Australian and New Zealand markets remain important for Business Micros, with more than 20 established PVC fabricators now using the Evolution platform for their manufacturing.
“We can manage the vast majority of these customers’ requirements remotely from the UK but when it comes to machine links, there’s no substitute for being there on the ground to do both the installation and testing,” he said.
Business Micros also has overseas customers in North America, Nigeria, the Caribbean and Iceland.
