AluK says it has made βits most definitive statement yetβ about its status as one of the few aluminium systems companies to be wholly based in the UK, by joining the official Made in Britain network of trusted and transparent British manufacturers.
AluK can now display the Made in Britain logo across its products, vehicles, packaging and marketing materials. The company adds that its trade, retail and commercial customers βwill be left in no doubtβ about its commitment to the UK and the advantages that brings in terms of accessibility, responsiveness and supply-chain resilience.
To qualify for the Made in Britain network, manufacturers have to demonstrate that the products they manufacture undergo βa substantial and transformative changeβ through manufacturing processes carried out in the Great Britain or Northern Ireland and that 100% of the labour involved in that process is based here.
They also have to sign up to a Code of Conduct which covers operating standards, health and safety, ethical conduct and environmentally responsible manufacturing.
AluKβs managing director, Russell Yates, commented:
βBecoming part of the Made in Britain network is a natural fit for AluK and reflects something that has always been fundamental to the way we operate. Weβre proud that our customers are dealing with a business which is genuinely UK based, with manufacturing, technical, warehousing, sales and marketing all located here in the UK.
βThat matters because it means we can offer direct access to the people and expertise behind our systems, while also giving them confidence in the strength and resilience of our supply chain.
βMade in Britain also aligns with our ongoing mission to campaign for more government support for this industry and the skilled jobs it supports and allows us to join another powerful group which is lobbying for the interests of British manufacturers and promoting sustainable economic growth.β
AluKβs products can now be listed in the influential Made in Britain directory, and the company will benefit from increased visibility through Made in Britainβs marketing PR and communications activity.
