The smart lock solution from Brisant Secure

Ultion Nuki, from Brisant Secure, is a precision engineered smart lock for UK doors. It has been designed to work with all the main smart home platforms and can still be used with a key if needed.

According to Brisant Secure, there is growing demand from homeowners to be able to lock and unlock their front door remotely. They want to give access to family members, cleaners and carers but crucially,  they want to achieve this without leaving keys under plant pots or with neighbours.

Brisant says that Ultion Nuki meets the ‘most stringent physical and digital security standards’ while being a ‘one-model-fits-all solution’ compatible across multiple smart home platforms and popular apps. The Nuki unit has reportedly achieved the highest possible rating for IT security by Germany’s respected AV-Test GmbH Institute.

Brisant has combined the Nuki technology with its Ultion lock to ensure that it works on UK doors and can be retrofitted. At the heart of the lock is an Ultion cylinder, which automatically goes into lockdown mode if attacked. A hidden firing pin secures the mechanism and stops it being opened. Brisant-Secure is so confident that an intruder will not access the property through the door, it has included a £2,000 guarantee valid for 10 years after the lock is fitted.

In addition to being highly secure, Brisant has designed Nuki to look attractive as well. There is the option of having the external Sweet handle which is available in seven colours and has a 20 year anti-corrosion guarantee.

The only handle that has to be changed is the one on the inside, so the appearance of the outside door can be left to look the same. There is no need for drilling or wiring. Fitting takes five minutes in association with the Nuki app and it is compatible with Ring, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, IFTTT, AirBnB, the Nuki app and smartwatches.

Brisant adds that if homeowners decide to switch their smart home platform, they don’t need to change the lock as it will automatically calibrate and update itself.

Ultion Nuki boasts a number of high tech features and can be set to automatically unlock itself when the homeowner approaches the door. Then after a time set by the user the door will automatically lock again.

Users do not need to get their phone out of their pocket and guests can be sent an electronic key to access a property without having to setup an account in the Nuki app. In addition, there is an easy press lock and unlock button from inside. For added peace of mind the Ultion Nuki still comes with an Ultion 3 * Plus key and a manual dial on the inside.

Accessories include a super-slim wireless Nuki Bluetooth keypad that can be fitted anywhere within 10m of the door. It can hold up to 100 different codes that can be set, stored and changed from the Nuki app.

Users can even set codes that work only at specific days and times. The Nuki bridge gives homeowners control of their door from anywhere in the world and the Nuki Bluetooth key fob means they can unlock and lock their property in the same way as a central locking function on a car.

It will also work with a preferred voice assistant, prompting users to say a passcode and eliminating the risk of intruders simply shouting ‘Alexa, unlock my door’.
