Simon Moore, business development manager at Exlabesa Architecture UK, explains the benefits of working with a business thatβs both global and firmly rooted in Britain.
In one sense, Exlabesa Architecture is a global business. But in another, itβs very British. In fact, I think one of our greatest strengths is that weβre able to offer the best of both.
The Exlabesa story began in Spain β we were first founded by Spanish aluminium experts in the 1960s.
But in the decades since, weβve spread all over the globe. Today, Exlabesa is one of the worldβs most respected aluminium suppliers, manufacturing in six countries and selling into more than 40.
However, for the last two decades, weβve had a very substantial presence in the UK. Our multimillion-pound Doncaster facility employs hundreds of people and has capacity to produce 20,000 tonnes of profile a year.
So, what does that mean for you, and our dozens of customers around Britain? Thanks to the huge resources of a global business, it means that weβre able to invest in the sort of state-of-the-art equipment that allows us to offer you high volumes, consistent supply and fantastic quality.
In recent years weβve equipped our Doncaster site with multiple CNC machining centres and extrusion presses, as well as a painting line, an anodising line and a polyamide assembly line.
However, the products themselves benefit hugely from Exlabesaβs long-standing presence in the UK.
The products we supply to British customers have been manufactured in Britain, are often largely designed in Britain, and are the result of consultations with dozens of British fabricators and installers.
Unlike many international businesses, Exlabesa isnβt highly centralised. We give a great deal of autonomy to our UK business, because we believe the best products come from close collaboration between suppliers and the people that buy them.
When we design a new system, itβs because the fabricators we work with have asked for one β theyβve identified a gap in the market and want us to make something to cater to it.
Throughout the design phase, weβre constantly checking in with our customers to ensure the finished product will meet their needs and making tweaks and changes in response to their feedback.
Itβs thanks to the support, encouragement and constant feedback from our valued customers that weβve been able to develop one of the most extensive and versatile aluminium systems ranges the UK has to offer.
However, weβre not complacent. Weβre always searching for new ways to support the fabricators we work with, and new products that will help them thrive in Britainβs demanding, ever-changing home improvement market.
In the last two years, weβve launched two high-performance bi-fold and sliding door products, Xlafold and Xlaslide β but weβve now also unveiled Glass Rail, our outstanding glass balustrade system 100% manufactured in Doncaster.
In the months and years ahead, weβll keep striving to produce exceptional aluminium products that combine our global resources with our deep insight into the UK fenestration market.
